Role summary: Subject Matter Expertise & Engineering skills are required to be part of a project that improves HSM observability for the organization’s encryption estate. The existing HSM observability is to be taken to the next level, improving resilience, monitoring capabilities and alerting.

Your Responsibilities

  • Be part of a team that implements a new monitoring and alerting solution based upon Splunk
  • Have specific knowledge about Thales Payshield HSMs and pull relevant data from the device (via SNMP)
  • Collaborate with team members as SME for Thales Payshield HSMs, and with other HSMs
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirement details
  • Write a design and test specification for your responsibility in the observability project
  • Contribute to documentation of the project
  • Help define the roadmap for continual improvements in the management of cryptographic services
  • Identify potential issues timely and propose innovative solutions

Skills & Experience We Require

  • Good knowledge about HSMs, specifically Thales Payshield
  • Understanding of how monitoring for HSMs works with expertise in SNMP
  • Stakeholder management skills with experience of balancing needs across multiple stakeholders
  • Team-oriented mindset with active contribution to discussions
  • Innovative mindset; able to contribute ideas for new in-house developments
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and global financial services regulatory environments
  • Knowledge of cryptographic modules and solutions (e.g., TPMs)
  • Strong IT infrastructure knowledge across platforms
  • Understanding of SSH/SSL functionality and usage
  • Experience interfacing with technology teams to bring concepts to market and build scalable operational models
  • Familiarity with industry cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., OWASP, ISO2700x, PCI DSS, GDPR, NIST)
  • Windows and Linux server administration
  • Strong documentation skills

Optional / Nice to Have

  • Academic or professional qualification in cryptography or cybersecurity
  • Formal education in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field
  • Industry qualifications (CISSP, CISA, CISM)
