OverviewCyber Security EngineerLookers Head Office - Fully RemoteContract type: Permanent, Full timeSalary: Between £55,000-£65,000 Depending on ExperienceHours: Monday to Friday (plus periodic on-call support rota)Here at Lookers we are recruiting for a Cyber Security Engineer, with a fully remote approach and occasional travel to team meetings.Reporting to the IT Security Team Lead, an exciting and hands-on role where you will be responsible for all aspects of security across Lookers IT, including our dealerships and online presence.ResponsibilitiesProviding assurance that our new and existing services remain sufficiently secure, so that we can provide an outstanding retail experience and remain trusted by our customers.Performs Daily Security Operations TasksOwning and addressing operational incidents, escalating as necessaryContinuously improving operational tasks to ensure ongoing effectivenessActing as Subject Matter Expert for one or more of our core security technology toolsEnsuring it remains fit for purposeFull lifecycle managementTraining others in the use of it, both within the team and the wider IT communityOwns items on the team's backlog and roadmapDelivering point solutionsAssessing wider change initiatives for security complianceRemediating known deficienciesAddressing outputs of penetration tests, purple teaming, risk and audit findingsSkillsSets and measures clear, realistic and timely objectives and goals.Anticipates the impact of executing plans across Lookers IT and has a flexible approach to managing time to allow for contingencies, anticipating and removing potential obstacles.Uses resources and time expertly, and skillfully and promptly sorts the urgent and the important priorities within complex processes.Through their actions and behaviours, they continually inspire others to remain calm, focused and energised during periods of extreme pressure.Always encourages a calm approach to the work environment around them, even when faced with the most challenging of situationsBuilds on successful initiatives to gain acceptance of ideas, including building behind the scenes support for ideas and initiatives.Clearly identifies what constitutes the appropriate level of workload for self and others, ensuring processes and tasks are planned to limit levels of stress, whilst remaining productive.Experience2 years+ experience in a similar Cyber Security roleA good working knowledge of Microsoft security (Defender, Sentinel, Intune)A solid understanding of core IT concepts is essential.
