At eduthing, we specialise in providing managed IT services tailored for the education sector, helping schools and educational organisations leverage technology securely and effectively. As we grow, we're seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to safeguard our clients' digital environments and ensure the highest standards of cybersecurity.
As a security specialist, you will play a key role in safeguarding schools' digital environments by designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security measures across networks, endpoints, and cloud platforms. The role focuses on proactive threat detection, incident response, and ensuring compliance with sector-specific standards and regulations.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in IT security, preferably within MSPs or the education sector
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, protocols, and tools
- Experience with network security, endpoint protection, and cloud security
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance related to education data protection
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical audience
Desirable Qualifications
- CompTIA Security+
- CompTIA Network+
- Microsoft 365 Security Administrator Associate
- CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)
This role is a balance of technical expertise and strong communication skills, enabling the specialist to work effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders. By promoting best practice and embedding a security-first mindset, the Cyber Security Engineer helps protect sensitive data, support safe learning environments, and contribute to the overall resilience of IT services delivered to our customers.
Salary: Competitive salary, dependent on qualifications and experience
Location: Primarily based at our HQ, with flexibility for hybrid working available.
