Data Analytics Engineer (BigQuery/dbt/AirFlow) 6 month contract £450-500 per day Onsite in London/Manchester offices - 3 days per week Outside IR35 Interviews w/c 15/09/25 My leading client are looking to hire a skilled Data Analytics Engineer (BigQuery/dbt/AirFlow) for a initial 6mth project to social media /customer data project - working 3 days per in my clients London/Manchester office. Data Analytics Engineer (BigQuery/dbt/AirFlow) contractor will work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts and data users across the business to design and build the data models in my clients BigQuery data warehouse, using SQL, Kimball data modelling and dbt. These models power people and products, equipping them with useful, reliable and governed data, so that they can make better, data-informed decisions, faster.

Data Modelling - Combining and transforming data from multiple source systems into structured data products which answer business questions about our products, customers and their behaviours. o Data Asset Design - Responsible for the design of conceptual, logical and physical data models such that the data can be easily & efficiently accessed and understood by users and systems across the business. o Data Transformation - Using SQL and dbt to transform data from source structure to target output according to agreed business logic.

You will consider ease of maintenance and debugging, and cost efficiency when implementing the ELT pipeline. The pipeline is scheduled using Apache Airflow. Data Quality - Ensuring data quality standards are met by implementing testing metrics such as completeness, accuracy, validity and timeliness.

In the case of a data quality incident, working closely with data owners and stewards to identify the root cause and remediate the issue. Requirements Gathering - Working closely with the data users to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new and existing data products at both a high and detailed level. Data Documentation - Collaborating with Data Governance, Data Analysts and Software Engineers to ensure that source data structures, business logic, transformation pipelines, lineage and meta data are recorded and made available to users.

Compliance - Modelling data according to policies as set out for data privacy, data protection and data assurance, for information security, and for our broader governance, regulatory & risk policies and framework. Essential skills/experience: A wealth of experience designing and building optimised data models following established methodologies (e.g. Kimball) in a consumer-orientated organisation.

Writing complex, analytical SQL as part of an ELT pipeline Confident user of Git for version control BigQuery Apache Airflow dbt Python /R Tableau /Power BI Highly Desirable Experience with rapid development methodologies, e.g., Agile, SCRUM, Kanban Robust knowledge of GDPR and likely implications on global data management.
