The starting salary for this position is £36,873 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.

This is a fixed term contract or secondment opportunity until 30th April 2027. Please discuss with your current Line Manager before submitting your application.

This role is open to hybrid working and as a team we split our time between collaborating with colleagues in the office for two days per week and working flexibly from home.

About the Role

Our team provides analysis of complex statistical and business data to inform strategic business planning and the development of service strategies. We develop effective and efficient systems and methods to ensure the timely collection, processing and dissemination of statistics in accordance with legislative requirements and relevant statistical Codes of Practice.

These roles are pivotal in supporting the Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) and it\'s associated electoral arrangements. The primary object is to establish a more efficient organisational framework for local government, thus enhancing service delivery for residents.

As a Data Analytics Engineer, you will work closely with the Lead to drive workforce data provision projects over the next two years, and actively support the HR function. This includes facilitating data extraction and generating automated reports on employee, legal and organisational information. All of which will be essential for the transfer of employees to the new organisations, as dictated by central government decisions.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring data compliance with regulations such as GDPR
  • Collaborating with teams across the organisation to validate data
  • Improving reporting tools and outputs

This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and a passion for data integrity and innovation.

Your Application

In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills and align with our behaviours :

  • Excellent IT skills including: FME, SQL (Python Elements), Tableau, SAP or PowerBI
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build sound relationships with customers, adapting styles to different situations
  • High level administrative, organisational and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage a range of projects through to completion
  • Professional business qualification to NVQ Level 4, or able to evidence knowledge and understanding of appropriate business disciplines (willingness to study for a relevant professional qualification if appropriate)
