Overview

We're seeking a hands-on Data & Analytics Engineer with deep technical expertise across modern data platforms and analytics tooling. This role offers broad ownership—from platform architecture to dashboard delivery—and is ideal for someone who thrives in end-to-end data environments.

This role does have on-site requirements and will initially be a 6 month contract.

Responsibilities

• Architect relational and Lakehouse schemas using Fabric, Databricks, or equivalent platforms
• Rebuild legacy SSAS cubes into scalable Lakehouse models
• Design medallion architectures and govern data pipelines
• Build and orchestrate ETL/ELT flows across ERP, WMS, ecommerce, IoT, and APIs
• Deliver performant, insightful dashboards using Power BI or similar tools
• Prepare curated datasets for AI/ML workflows and automation
• Implement CI/CD, Git-based source control, and workspace deployment automation
• Define and enforce data governance, lineage, and catalog standards
• Upskill analysts through documentation, enablement, and stakeholder engagement

Ideal Skillset

• Strong SQL and data modelling (dimensional, 3NF)
• Experience with modern data platforms: Fabric, Databricks, Synapse, or similar
• Proficiency in Python and/or PySpark for transformation and orchestration
• Familiarity with orchestration tools like Data Factory, Dataflow Gen2, or Databricks Workflows
• Expertise in dashboard performance tuning, DirectQuery, and incremental refresh
• Cloud-native mindset: Azure, AWS, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines
• Comfortable with REST APIs, GitHub Actions, and ML Ops tooling
• Agile delivery, peer reviews, and test-driven development
