Data and Analytics Engineer

We're seeking a hands-on Data & Analytics Engineer with deep technical expertise across modern data platforms and analytics tooling. This role offers broad ownership-from platform architecture to dashboard delivery-and is ideal for someone who thrives in end-to-end data environments.

This role does have on-site requirements and will initally be a 6 month contract.

Core Responsibilities

  • Architect relational and Lakehouse schemas using Fabric, Databricks, or equivalent platforms

  • Rebuild legacy SSAS cubes into scalable Lakehouse models

  • Design medallion architectures and govern data pipelines

  • Build and orchestrate ETL/ELT flows across ERP, WMS, ecommerce, IoT, and APIs

  • Deliver performant, insightful dashboards using Power BI or similar tools

  • Prepare curated datasets for AI/ML workflows and automation

  • Implement CI/CD, Git-based source control, and workspace deployment automation

  • Define and enforce data governance, lineage, and catalog standards

  • Upskill analysts through documentation, enablement, and stakeholder engagement

Ideal Skillset

  • Strong SQL and data modelling (dimensional, 3NF)

  • Experience with modern data platforms: Fabric, Databricks, Synapse, or similar

  • Proficiency in Python and/or PySpark for transformation and orchestration

  • Familiarity with orchestration tools like Data Factory, Dataflow Gen2, or Databricks Workflows

  • Expertise in dashboard performance tuning, DirectQuery, and incremental refresh

  • Cloud-native mindset: Azure, AWS, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines

  • Comfortable with REST APIs, GitHub Actions, and ML Ops tooling

  • Agile delivery, peer reviews, and test-driven development
