Overview

Data Centre & Infrastructure Engineer – Global Field Engineer role at SRT Marine Systems plc. This role entails the build, installation, configuration and commissioning of complex network servers, PCs and other systems such as CCTV and building monitoring systems that form part of our maritime surveillance systems, together with ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting and resolution of issues.

Responsibilities

• Configuration and deployment of networked servers, storage, network hardware and related software packages, and other IT infrastructure support
• Check and validate installations, and prepare reports
• Configuration and troubleshooting of various connectivity systems
• Monitor system performance, undertake troubleshooting and implement software patches and hardware replacements
• Support and train customer internal IT departments and technicians to enable operational ownership and day-to-day maintenance
• Maintain good documentation trails of system changes and updates

Requirements

• ESSENTIAL — Strong experience in network IT system setup and management in either commercial or industrial environments
• ESSENTIAL — Deep understanding of IT networks and server configurations (Windows/Linux, TCP/IP, DNS, VPN)
• Experience with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is advantageous
• Strong understanding of IT security and data protection best practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent teamwork and communication abilities
• A qualification in Tower Climbing / Working at Height is beneficial; training can be provided if not held
