Location: London (5 days on-site required)
Contract Length: 6 months.
Rate: £226 per day inside umbrella
About the Role:
As a Data centre Technical Operations Engineer I, you will be the on-site maintenance technician and operator, responsible for the operation and upkeep of critical electrical and mechanical systems. Your expertise will ensure our data centres maintain an impressive uptime of 99.999%. If you thrive in a collaborative atmosphere and enjoy tackling challenging problems, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring optimal performance. Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events, adhering to internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Conduct limited maintenance tasks, including philtre changes, HVAC preventative maintenance (PM), and rack power installations. Provide essential support to Data centre Operations technicians. Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures to drive continuous improvement. Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine inspections. Manage building workflows and spare part inventory using our internal CMMS (computerised Maintenance Management System). Supervise contractors during servicing or preventive maintenance tasks. Respond to emergency calls during off-hours as part of an on-call rotation. Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and security policies.Safety First!

What We're Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
- City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, controls) or core electrical competencies and theory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in data centre engineering operations.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or equivalent engineering discipline.
