Join to apply for the Data Engineer & Analyst role at Crowdfunder
Crowdfunder is looking for a curious, driven, and impact-minded Data Engineer & Analyst to power our platform with clean, actionable insight. You’ll design and maintain the data infrastructure that helps us make better decisions, support our users, and unlock growth for good.
The role
This is a high-impact, hands-on role at the core of Crowdfunder’s operations. You’ll be responsible for owning our data pipelines, business intelligence, and system integrations, ensuring the right data flows through the right systems to the right people.
You’ll work across teams to build scalable solutions that bring clarity to complexity. From product performance and marketing impact to partner reporting and platform usage, your work will help us make smarter decisions, and support changemakers more effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain our data pipelines, ensuring seamless ingestion, transformation, and storage using GCP, BigQuery, and Dataflow.
- Design robust data models and develop dashboards using tools like Looker Studio to help teams unlock insight and drive action.
- Own and improve integrations across key systems - including our CRM, marketing tools, and customer support platforms - via tools like Hightouch.
- Champion data governance and quality, putting in place best practices and checks to ensure consistency and reliability.
- Work with stakeholders across the business, from Product and Marketing to Finance and Ops, to define metrics, surface insights, and identify opportunities.
- Support ad-hoc analysis to uncover trends, test hypotheses, and inform strategic decisions.
You’re a data all-rounder with strong technical skills and a problem-solving mindset. You can navigate between engineering and analytics with ease, and you know how to turn data into clarity, not just charts.
You’re collaborative, thoughtful, and excited by the opportunity to build systems that support changemakers and amplify impact.
You’ll likely have:
- 3+ years of experience in a data-focused role, ideally covering both engineering and analytics.
- Solid SQL and Python skills, plus experience with modern data stacks (e.g. GCP, BigQuery, Dataflow).
- Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and integration patterns using middleware tools.
- Experience with BI tools like Looker Studio and strong data modelling chops.
- A good understanding of data quality, privacy, and governance principles.
- Excellent communication skills - able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- You’ve worked with customer data platforms (e.g. Segment, Census, Hightouch) or event tracking tools.
- You’re familiar with GDPR and best practices in ethical data use.
- You’ve explored AI/ML or predictive analytics use cases and are curious to do more.
- A robust, scalable data infrastructure that supports the whole business.
- Clear, insightful dashboards that help teams measure what matters.
- Smooth, reliable integrations across our key systems.
- A shared understanding of key metrics across the business.
- Data that drives decisions, not just reports.
Salary: £50-60k (depending on experience)
Hours: Full time (open to 4 days)
Flexible location: We are open to either fully remote with occasional travel to meet the team in the South West, or hybrid if you’re located near one of our offices in Dorset and Cornwall. Everyone meets in-person four times a year for our team away days.

An extra paid day off on your birthday

About Crowdfunder
Crowdfunder is a fundraising platform on a mission to spread positivity across the globe and we’re excited to be expanding. We are dedicated to turning innovative community ideas into reality, connecting project creators with passionate backers to go beyond the confines of traditional fundraising.
Our values - united for good, think creatively, always be human, empower greatness - are at the heart of everything we do. You’ll be part of a passionate and innovative team that is dedicated to making our world a better place.
Inclusion and diversity
Crowdfunder is tackling society's challenges, by making ideas happen. We connect projects that matter to people and companies who care.
We’re here to support diverse communities and to provide a platform for those who want to be heard; amplifying voices and impact is what we do.
We value the fact that each one of us is different, with different perspectives - and we want to reflect the diversity of the crowd we serve.
We recognise that we don’t all start from the same place - because advantages and barriers exist - but through Crowdfunder and crowdfunding, we believe we can offer greater equality of opportunity.
We’re creating an inclusive workplace culture, based on fairness, respect and honesty, because we believe leveraging differences achieves better results and better serves our crowd, our partners and our communities.
As part of that, we’re committed to educating ourselves, and each other, on gender, race, faith, disability, age, sexual orientation and other areas of diversity to ensure everyone is welcome and feels valued in our workplace as well as in our wider Crowdfunder community.
We recognise that ‘diversity and inclusion’ is not something that we will ever ‘achieve’. It’s not a box that can ever be ticked as ‘100% done’.
Diversity and inclusion is an ongoing journey of big steps and small nudges that will create a richer community and place to work and help us be a better business.
We’re proud to be on that journey together.
