Overview

We are implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 4 days per month on site to enable collaboration with partners and stakeholders and to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs and can flex up to 8 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will require more regular on-site presence, and remote working may be available for specific roles. Please discuss this with the recruiting manager before accepting an appointment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to help build on the CPRD's 30 years of providing data for drug safety and epidemiological studies, resulting in over 3,500 peer-reviewed publications. Responsibilities

  • Develop and support end-to-end data processing solutions, including Extraction Transform Load (ETL) data processing from data collection through to delivery.
  • Maintain and support CPRD's data processing pipelines; ensure data assets are of high quality with appropriate metadata.
  • Identify optimisations to enable scaling and repeatable use of data.
  • Development of end-to-end ETL data processing.
  • Continuous improvement and enhancements; add value to research datasets.
  • Assure, monitor, and validate data flows and data governance.

Qualifications

  • Be educated to degree level, or equivalent, in computer science, IT, maths, or related discipline, or equivalent work-related experience.
  • Proven ability to design, build, and test data products from multiple feeds using various storage technologies and access methods.
  • Proven ability to deliver data solutions that are resilient, scalable, and future-proof; ability to produce, maintain, and update relevant data models.
  • Proven ability to design, code, test, document programs or scripts, and maintain data processing pipelines.
  • Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check and baseline personnel security standard checks for government assets.

Benefits

  • Salary in the region of £44,825 plus employer pension contributions to the Civil Service Pension Scheme.
  • Annual leave: 25 days on entry, increasing to 30 days with service, plus 8 bank holidays; Privilege Leave: 1 day.
  • Hours of work: 37 hours per week (full-time), pro-rated for part-time staff.
