Overview
You will be part of a community of experts in Information Digital Engineering, embedding AI across the organisation to improve existing businesses and accelerate the development of clean energy solutions. The Data & Engineering family creates business value daily through data & software engineering, turning information into actionable insights for Shell.
Responsibilities
- What's the role: As a data engineer, you will work closely with traders and analysts to create data solutions in Python, Databricks and Azure to extract, process, store and display data, in line with best practice software engineering processes and architecture patterns. In collaboration with a quantitative engineer, you will help productionize traders' quantitative models into data-driven software applications.
- What you'll be doing: Design and build data foundations and end-to-end solutions for Shell to maximise value from data. Help convert Vision and Data Strategy for IT solutions and deliver them. Enable data-driven thinking across the organisation, not just in IT teams, but also with the wider Shell stakeholder community. Core activities include: communicating with technical developers and business managers; delivering the roll-out and embedding of Data Foundation initiatives; coordinating change management, incident management and problem management; ensuring traceability of requirements from data through testing and scope changes, training and transition; and driving implementation efficiency across pilots and future projects to minimise cost and maximise value.
- What you bring: You will contribute deep technical skills and collaborate across company-wide teams. We focus on continuous learning of new technologies to keep our future ready.
