Our client is on a mission to revolutionise men's mental health. We're building an innovative, accessible, and destigmatised platform designed to support men in their mental well-being journeys. Our app combines evidence-based tools, personalised insights, and a supportive community, all powered by intelligent data analysis. We believe in creating a positive impact through technology, fostering resilience, and breaking down barriers to seeking help.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Data Engineer to join our growing team. You will play a crucial role in building, maintaining, and optimising the robust data infrastructure that underpins our mental health app. This is more than just a technical role; you\'ll be contributing directly to a product that makes a tangible difference in people\'s lives, ensuring that our data is clean, accessible, and reliable, enabling us to deliver personalised experiences and measure our impact effectively.

If you\'re excited by the challenge of handling sensitive data with integrity, building scalable solutions, and working at the intersection of technology and social good, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Design & Build: Develop, construct, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures (ETL/ELT) using modern data engineering practices.
  • Data Management: Manage our data warehouse, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security, especially given the sensitive nature of mental health data.
  • Optimisation: Optimise data flow and collection for efficiency, performance, and reliability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to understand data needs and provide accessible, high-quality data.
  • Tooling: Select and implement appropriate big data tools and technologies to support our growing data ecosystem.
  • Monitoring & Maintenance: Establish monitoring processes for data pipelines and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure all data operations adhere to strict security protocols, privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA), and ethical guidelines for sensitive health information.
  • Innovation: Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in data engineering, suggesting and implementing improvements.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong programming skills in Python (essential).
  • SQL & Databases: Expertise in SQL and experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their data services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, Data Factory).
  • ETL/ELT Tools: Experience with ETL/ELT frameworks and tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Spark).
  • Containerisation: Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Data Modelling: Solid understanding of data modelling techniques and data warehousing principles.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and data quality.
  • Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ethical Mindset: A deep understanding of and commitment to data privacy, security, and ethical data handling, particularly with sensitive personal information.
