Brackley, UK | £75,000 basic | Hybrid after probation
This is a rare opportunity to join a high-profile organisation recognised worldwide for its pursuit of excellence. Behind the scenes, their Core Technology Team ensures data flows seamlessly across Finance and HR, empowering critical decisions and driving operational success.
They are now seeking a Data Platform Engineer to shape data strategy, optimise pipelines, and deliver meaningful insights in a truly high-performance culture.
The Role
As a Data Platform Engineer, you will:
- Design and implement modern data platforms and integrations across SQL, Snowflake, MongoDB, and cloud-based technologies.
- Build and maintain robust ETL pipelines (experience with Matillion desirable, though not essential).
- Extract, transform, and optimise data from systems such as SAP, ensuring accuracy and reliability for Finance and HR stakeholders.
- Deliver insights through data modelling, transformation, and dashboarding (Power BI experience is a strong advantage).
- Partner with business and data architects to align solutions with strategic goals and future-ready technology decisions.
What You’ll Bring
The successful candidate will bring both technical expertise and professional maturity. Specifically:
- Strong SQL skills with proven ability to write, optimise, and troubleshoot complex queries.
- Experience in designing and managing ETL pipelines, ideally across multiple tools or platforms.
- Knowledge of Snowflake or Azure Databricks, with broader experience in modern data warehouse/cloud-based solutions.
- A track record of stability and tenure, showing reliability and long-term value in previous roles.
- Business-facing experience, ideally supporting Finance or HR teams, and the ability to translate data into meaningful insights.
- A problem-solving, analytical mindset with the curiosity to go beyond the obvious to drive performance.
- Strong collaboration skills, building trust with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Desirable:
- Experience working with financial data and ERP systems such as SAP.
- Dashboarding and BI tools, particularly Power BI.
The Offer
- Competitive salary of £75,000
- On-site in Brackley, 5 days per week during the first 3 months, moving to a hybrid model (3 days onsite / 2 WFH)
