About The Department

A new Data Tribe has been formed within our Investments Product Model, uniting our core data capabilities under a single team led by a new Chief Data Officer. The focus is to accelerate data accessibility and availability across the business by partnering with business-aligned Tribes to unlock value from data, drive automation and AI-powered efficiencies, and support scalable growth on a modern data platform.

About The Role

As a Data Platform Engineer, you will support the design, implementation, and management of a decentralised data architecture based on Data Mesh principles. You will work with technologies such as Snowflake, dbt, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft Fabric to build scalable, secure, and high-performing platform capabilities. Your work will empower domain teams to autonomously own, access, and manage their data via self-service Data Products, while maintaining governance across a distributed data landscape.

About The Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Familiarity with Data Mesh principles and decentralized data architectures.
  • Proven expertise with cloud technologies, including Snowflake, Azure, and dbt.
  • Competency in scripting languages such as SQL, PowerShell, and Python.
  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipeline management and Terraform for infrastructure automation.
  • Strong understanding of data security, governance, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • A continuous learning mindset and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
