Title: Senior / Data Scientist (AI/ML – Healthtech)
Location: UK / Ireland (Remote with occasional travel)
Salary: £48k–£60k DOE + potential equity for business-wide contribution

About the Role

We are an award-winning femtech startup with an AI-powered app and smart pads that measure menstrual flow in ml and clot sizes, empowering faster diagnosis and better health outcomes. Currently scaling in Ireland/UK with global expansion ahead, we’re seeking a technically strong, commercially minded data scientist to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end development of ML models for menstrual flow and clot detection, from data preprocessing to deployment.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and clinical teams to align technical output with user needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with MLOps/engineering support to ensure models are robust, monitored, and scalable in production.
  • Translate insights into clear, actionable outputs for clinicians, users, and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects (e.g., grant applications, research collaborations, clinical validation).
  • Support wider business goals by providing technical expertise in pitches, publications, or demos where needed.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years’ professional experience in data science/ML (healthtech or computer vision preferred).
  • Proven track record of taking ML models into production and delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong Python skills, plus experience with CNNs, GANs, and image segmentation.
  • Familiarity with MLOps, CI/CD, and deployment pipelines (with engineering support).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, resource-constrained startup environment where collaboration is key.
  • Bonus: Experience with medical devices, regulatory processes, or academic publications.
