You will work alongside data scientists within a small agile team building SSE’s market propositions using data and AI. We utilise a variety of data sources ranging from IoT sensor data, geospatial, weather, assets (renewables, storage, buildings, EVs, heat pumps, CHPs) and energy data. Your focus will be leading the creation of innovative and compelling data visualisations and developing robust supporting data pipelines, all to drive the creation of new Customer Digital AI Propositions for SSE’s shopfront.You willWork in a cross disciplinary team to develop advanced analytics productsLiaise with internal stakeholders to gather key requirements for new productsCreate data pipelines to support the development of new trial productsDevelop data visualisations for proof of concepts and trial productsEnsure key processes (e.g. Data Governance) are followedYou haveStrong working experience in developing data solutions to solve problemsDeep technical expertise in Python, SQL and Databricks, including developing complex data transformation pipelinesExperience developing data visualisations using BI tools (Power BI) and open-source app development frameworks (e.g. Dash, Streamlit)Knowledge of (and passion for) the UK energy industryA strong focus on user/customer needs and commercial awarenessAbout SSESSE has a bold ambition – to be a leading energy company in a net zero world.
