Komcept Solutions designs and delivers advanced security technologies that help organisations stay ahead of evolving threats. We’re growing – and we’re looking for a talented Database and Infrastructure Engineer to join our team.

The Role

Based at our UK headquarters near Northampton, you’ll build and maintain robust IT infrastructure on customer platforms and support our internal systems. This includes Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, virtualisation, and high-availability environments running 24/7. You’ll monitor and optimise backups, ensure systems remain resilient, and occasionally travel abroad to support customer deployments.

This is a hands-on role with plenty of scope to grow your skills, diversify your experience, and work on mission-critical security systems with real-world impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Maintaining and performance-tuning Microsoft SQL Server (Availability Groups & Replication) and MySQL (Galera Clusters)
• Designing databases and optimising performance across multiple environments
• Configuring and maintaining firewalls, networking, VPNs, and virtualisation (vCenter, vSphere)
• Supporting high-availability, mission-critical infrastructure for internal and customer systems
• Occasionally travelling abroad to support customer projects
• Documenting methods and processes to ensure best practice

What We’re Looking For

• Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience (Availability Groups, Replication)
• Strong MySQL experience (Galera Clusters)
• Firewall, networking, and VPN configuration/maintenance
• Virtualisation (vCenter, vSphere)
• Delivering training to users of varying technical abilities

You’ll be organised, pragmatic, and clear in your communication. Because the role is office-based at our rural site, a full driving licence is preferred.
