Job Title:Day EngineerLocation:York Holme-On-Spalding MoorSalary:£48,000 - £51,000 (DOE)Industry:FMCGJob Type:Permanent, Full TimeShift:Monday Friday: Days - 8am-5pmHours:39-45 Hours per weekBenefits:Competitive salary Progression path to Team Leader/ Supervisor Company pension scheme Training and development opportunities Career progression within a growing FMCG business Free on-site parking Key Day Engineer Responsibilities:Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across all production and site services equipment Schedule and complete servicing, inspections, and repairs to a high standard, ensuring full compliance and accurate record keeping Maintain and operate site services including boilers, compressed air systems, chilled water, and effluent treatment Support installation, commissioning, and relocation of machinery and equipment Work closely with production teams to identify and deliver efficiency improvements and reduce downtime Participate in root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions Ensure all work is completed in line with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards Adhere to GMP standards and promote a clean as you go cultureSkills & Experience Required:Essential:Multi-skilled engineer with strong electrical and mechanical competencies Recognised engineering qualification (e.g. Apprenticeship, ONC, City & Guilds, 17th/18th Edition) Ability to carry out both reactive and preventative maintenance Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Experience working in an FMCG manufacturing environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels Understanding the importance of accurate record keeping (quality, food safety, H&S) Proactive attitude with a strong team working ethic Desirable:Experience working within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment Knowledge of food safety standards such as BRCGS Experience working with site services (boilers, air systems, chilled water, effluent) Experience supporting installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects Formal mechanical qualification (in addition to electrical bias) Experience working to retailer standards Continuous improvement mindset (lean / efficiency focused) JBRP1_UKTJ
