Dell Storage Engineer, DellEMC VMAX, PMAX, Datadomain, DC Move, October/November, London, £Good

We are looking for an experienced Storage/Data Centre Engineer to support a critical infrastructure relocation project. The role involves moving enterprise storage systems from one location in London to another Location, across three scheduled dates in October and November.

You will be hands-on in the data centre, responsible for decommissioning, cabling, un-racking, transportation, and reinstallation of storage equipment, ensuring that all systems are safely powered down, relocated, and fully operational after the move.

Key Responsibilities

• Decommission and safely power down enterprise storage devices (DellEMC VMAX, PMAX, Datadomain).
• Label, document, and manage data cabling to ensure correct reinstallation.
• Un-rack, pack, and prepare equipment (including rails, fittings, and flight cases) for secure transport.
• Reinstall and re-cable equipment at the destination data centre.
• Power on, configure, and support post-move testing to confirm functionality.
• Work within agreed time windows to minimise downtime and business disruption.

The Person

• Experienced Storage Engineer, with key emphasis on enterprise storage systems of Dell EMC VMAX/PMAX/DataDomain
• Dell EMC VMAX and PowerMax certifications would be highly beneficial
• Hands-on experience with hardware decommissioning and reinstallation
• Excellent attention to detail and methodical approach to labelling and documentation.
