Elevation Recruitment’s Design & Projects team is working with a forward-thinking manufacturing business to recruit a Product Development Engineer. This role is ideal for a design-focused, innovative engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to drive product innovation using new materials, processes, and technologies.

You’ll join a high-impact team aligned to one of three core product value streams, supporting agile design, NPD, and commercial responsiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead or support NPD projects from concept to launch
• Research and integrate new materials and manufacturing processes
• Translate customer requirements into practical, cost-effective solutions
• Produce detailed design documentation and test protocols
• Collaborate with sales, manufacturing, and external stakeholders
• Conduct testing, analyse data, and iterate on performance
• Support product industrialisation and continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute to ISO9001 processes and R&D sessions

About You

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years in product development, ideally with experience in new materials
• Strong CAD/design skills and understanding of engineering drawings and testing
• Aerospace experience or regulatory knowledge is a plus
• Excellent communicator, highly organised, commercially aware
