Design Assurance Engineer

Location: Scotstoun, BAE Systems

Duration: 6-12 months initially

Project: Canada

Pay: £32.00 PAYE or £43.04 Umbrella

Hybrid: 2 days per week in office

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Engineer – Design Assurance to join our Canadian River-Class Destroyer programme. You’ll help manage the engineering lifecycle, track design maturity and ensure performance, resilience and integrity across the platform.

Responsibilities

• Support and coordinate design assurance activities across the engineering lifecycle.
• Contribute to Zonal Review and Compartment Plan Approval processes.
• Analyse data, track design maturity and report assurance outcomes to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and internal teams to resolve engineering issues.
• Share knowledge and guide less experienced colleagues.

About you

• Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Maths or related field.
• Achieved or working towards professional registration (e.g., IEng).
• Good understanding of systems engineering principles, tools and processes.
• Confident communicator, able to work across teams and with external partners.
