We have 8 offices across England, Northern Ireland and Ireland with over 200 staff.Fingleton White is an Engineers Ireland CPD Accredited Employer and supports CPD, mentoring and Chartership through targeted training and experience relevant to each grade.The role will be based in our Birmingham office.The RoleDesign Engineer – REF: 2521We are looking to recruit a Design Engineer to join our Water design team. The successful candidate will join a growing team with senior support and will have the opportunity as their career progresses to acquire a broad range of skills and experience in design and project management. The role will provide essential engineering, communications and project delivery skills transferrable across any engineering project.ResponsibilitiesWork within a design team including Mechanical, Civil, E&I, CP and drafting team membersDesign from conceptual phase through to project completionDevelopment of Preliminary and Detailed Design reports, calculations and drawingsProducing design drawings, mechanical plant selection and technical specificationsProducing plant layouts (2D & 3D), technical specifications, Wimes datasheets, equipment schedules and P&IDsPreparing design of mechanical installations typically including municipal water and wastewater pumping stations and treatment plantsProducing hydraulic calculations for gravity and pumped systems including pumping system analysis / pump selectionEnsuring all designs are completed in accordance with the relevant standards and specificationsEnsuring all designs comply with Health and Safety standards and regulationsAttending progress meetings with our Water design team, clients, contractors & suppliersUndertaking site visits to carry out site surveys and support liaising with clients, contractors & suppliersRequirementsEngineering degree (Honours bachelor’s degree or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Process Engineering, or similar discipline3+ years post-graduate experienceExcellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft OfficeFamiliar with AutoCAD Plant 3D modellingGood academic recordFull clean driving license and own transportFluent written and spoken EnglishExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a teamWhat We OfferAn attractive remuneration packagePaid overtimeBonus schemeCareer progression in line with published plan and educational supportYear on year salary reviewsPaid Paternity & Maternity LeaveContinuous Professional Development & Pathway to ChartershipLife AssuranceEmployee Assistance ProgrammeHybrid Working (remote and office) & Flexible Working PolicyGroup pension scheme with employer contributionProfessional Certifications, pathways to become a Chartered EngineerTeam wellness programmesESG activities such as sustainability initiatives, biodiversity committee, STEPS to Engineering, Women in EngineeringTeam social outingsHow To ApplyPlease provide us with a CV including all relevant information including education details.
