Design Engineer, £35,000 - £45,000, Lincolnshire • £35,000 - £45,000 commensurate with experience + pension + 25 days holiday. • Full-time, permanent role. Working hours are 08:00-17:00 (Mon-Thurs) 08:00-16:30 (Friday). • Technical role for an engineering service, installation & sales business
Are you a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving problems, working on a variety of projects, and supporting site teams with technical know-how?
Your background as a Design Engineer: • Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software (Inventor & AutoCAD preferred – training can be given) • Comfortable working in a support role – helping with projects, factory builds, and layout drawings • Familiar with steelwork, mechanical or hydraulic equipment • Good Excel skills – used to doing basic calculations and analysing data • Keen to learn, improve, and get stuck in across different areas • Strong communication skills and able to work independently • GCSEs in English & Maths essential; further technical qualifications are a bonus
Design Engineer responsibilities: • Use CAD software to produce site layouts and simple bespoke steelwork designs • Help the projects team by turning ideas into clear technical drawings and documents • Support factory builds and installations. • Organise and update technical files, documents, and drawings • Assist with compliance documents like risk assessments, method statements, and SOPs • Work with data in Excel to support decision-making and problem-solving • Share knowledge through training materials, toolbox talks, and team support • Be part of a team that values continuous improvement and a practical mindset
