Remit:

* Exciting opportunity for an ambitious Design Engineer to work closely with design, production, & commercial delivery departments to provide technical expertise with the company’s product & tooling manufacturing capabilities.

* This role will suit someone early in their design career who enjoys hands on CAD work and aspires to grow in a collaborative, engineering led environment

* The successful Design Engineer candidate will benefit from a fully mapped out training & development plan with clear progression pathway in keeping with the company’s emphasis on developing their staff

Role:

* As Design Engineer you will design and develop in-house products from concept to production

* In the role of Design Engineer, you will be responsible for optimising customer-supplied designs using DFM principles

* Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D technical

* Collaborate with tooling, production and quality teams to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness

* Communicate technical recommendations clearly

* Maintain design documentation and drawing office database

* Take part in design reviews and improvement initiatives

Experience Requirements:

* HND/Degree in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or similar

* Experience with 3D CAD (SolidWorks ; training provided for similar packages)

* Industry or placement experience in design/engineering

* Knowledge of mechanical design and DFM principles

* Strong communication, teamwork, and attention to detail

* Experience and appreciation of injection moulding an advantage

* Understanding of materials and processes for volume manufacturing

* Awareness of CADCAM, prototyping or CNC tooling
