About the Role
As a Design Engineer at NOV, you will be a vital part of the Process and Flow Technologies (PFT) Engineering Team. Based in Greengate, Manchester, you will support the design and development of progressive cavity pumps and other specialty oil and gas equipment. Your work will involve creating detailed models and drawings, responding to technical queries, collaborating across global teams, and driving continuous product improvement initiatives.
This role offers a unique opportunity to develop innovative solutions in mechanical engineering while contributing to a dynamic and collaborative global environment. You’ll also interface directly with manufacturing and operations teams to deliver customer-centric engineering designs in line with NOV’s standards.

Key Responsibilities
Create engineering documents: drawings, BOMs, reports, and manuals using CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
Perform design calculations, stress analysis, and tolerance studies
Support sustaining engineering for existing products and lead design improvements
Develop testing procedures and prototype designs for new equipment
Provide technical responses to internal and external product queries
Ensure all designs meet industry standards, client requirements, and internal protocols
Liaise with global teams including the Middle East and US regions
Provide cross-departmental support (QA, manufacturing, customer service, etc.)
Ensure compliance with all HSE and quality standards
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s )
5–12 years' experience in pump or rotating equipment design
Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and FEA tools
Knowledge of hydraulic systems, mechanical elements, and material selection
Experience with API 674, 676, and 610 standards
Understanding of ASME, ASTM, and international codes
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JDE, CRM)
