Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Bedfordshire (on-site working)

Salary: From £42-52,000 (Depending on experience)

We're looking for a Design Engineer to join a global manufacturing site near Bedfordshire. You'll be part of a small but highly experienced design team of three, working closely with management who provide excellent support.

This role would suit someone with a strong mechanical engineering background who enjoys problem solving, getting to the root of risks and failures, and understanding how components fit together and function in real-world applications. It's a chance to work on interesting, complex products used across a wide range of industries.

What you'll be doing

Designing and developing mechanical components for use in manufacturing Optimising designs for performance, cost, and ease of production Supporting prototypes, testing and investigating failures Producing technical documentation and providing support to wider teams Using tools such as FEA, SPC, FMEA and DOE to improve processes Collaborating with colleagues locally and internationally on projects

What we're looking for

HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) Strong design experience in a manufacturing setting Proficient in CAD (Creo preferred, but others considered) A practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills Background in mechanical design is highly desirable
