Place of work : Ballymena Permanent, Full-Time Salary: £45,000.00 per annum 4-Day Week: Monday - Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm The Role We are currently seeking an experienced Design, Manufacturing and Production Engineer (R&D) to join their team. In this key role, you will be responsible for prototyping and developing both new and existing product lines, supporting daily production operations, and working closely with customers and suppliers. You'll play a critical role in taking products from concept through to market-ready solutions, collaborating with engineers and the wider manufacturing team in a hands-on environment. Your responsibilities will include technical drawing, process development, prototype fabrication, and ensuring all designs meet industry standards. Key Responsibilities Support production through the preparation of CAD/CAM drawings for both new and existing products. Develop and test products for various applications including fire safety, security, and maintenance efficiency. Create standard operating procedures and lead process improvements using LEAN methodologies. Maintain and update parametric designs for product consistency and reliability. Source components and materials for development and production use. Maintain accurate project documentation and bills of materials (BOMs). Assist production operators with updates and improvements to product lines. Produce technical drawings for both suppliers and customers. Essential Requirements Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field. At least 1 year of line management experience. Minimum 2 years of experience in a design engineering role. Proficient in Solid Edge and Lantek, or similar CAD/CAM software. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities. Desirable Experience Familiarity with automation and robotics. Skilled in sheet metal folding and CNC punch CAM/programming. Experience in parametric design using Solid Edge. Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. What We Offer Ongoing training and career development opportunities.
