World Class Defence Organisation based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire is currently looking to recruit a Development and Production Test Engineer – Electronic / Electrical subcontractor on an initial 12 month contract. \nExperience specifically required:\n\nMust have significant experience with measurement and test principles, and associated test equipment.\nElectronic Component level fault finding\nCADMID product lifecycle for test equipment is desirable.\nRF and microwave technology at subsystem level would be an advantage.\nEnvironmental testing would also be an advantage.\nHigh Voltage training/awareness.\nSAP Beneficial\nThe department are keen to hear from candidates from a background with either RF / Microwave skills or candidates that have strong Test, Diagnostics, Repair Engineering skills. \n\nHourly Rate: £36.00ph (Umbrella). Time and a quarter Overtime rate for hours worked over 37 hours\nContract Duration: 12 Months (initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter)\n\nDevelopment and Production Test Engineer – Electronic / Electrical :\n\nAs a Production Test Engineer - Electronics, you will play a vital role in supporting testing and diagnostics of electrical/electronic sub-systems and circuit cards during the production phase of the product lifecycle. You will use your experience to provide technical support to the manufacturing test capability, to ensure programme targets are met to agreed time, cost and quality requirements.\n \nYou will be working with a small team of dedicated engineers in a fast-paced but friendly and inclusive manufacturing environment, carrying out the following:\n\nProviding test engineering support to operators on the shopfloor, including supporting the introduction of new test equipment.\nTesting and diagnosing complex electrical/electronic systems, sub-assemblies and circuit cards down to component level.\nGenerating test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports - based on higher-level requirements and information.\nPromptly identifying remedial and corrective actions to allow Manufacturing to continue in line with the programme, following production test failures.\nSupporting meetings with Quality and Operations to provide status updates on Test Engineering actions and investigations. \n \nSkillset/experience required:\n\nEssential:\nMinimum HNC level of Engineering qualifications or equivalent.\nGood understanding of digital and analogue electronic measurement and test principles, and fault diagnosis techniques, with demonstrable experience down to component level.\nAwareness of electrical/electronic sub-system and system design, integration and test principles.\nGood verbal and written communication skills, including of test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports.\n\nAdvantageous:\nKnowledge of RF and Microwave technology at the subsystem level.\nExperience in operating manual and automated test equipment in an Electronics Manufacturing environment
