DevOps Engineer (SC Cleared)

Overview

Our client seeks a SC Cleared AWS DevOps Engineer to join their dynamic team on an initial 6 month contract. This role is 95% remote with travel required once a month to the office.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deliver, and support secure and scalable AWS infrastructure using services like EC2, S3, ECS, and FARGATE
  • Integrate SAST and DAST tools into CI/CD pipelines to enforce secure development practices
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK
  • Use configuration management tools (e.g., Chef and Ansible) for automated server configuration, patching, and environment standardization
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS Code Pipeline
  • Perform administrative and troubleshooting tasks on Linux-based systems, including log analysis and performance tuning; lead technical triage and root cause analysis for infrastructure issues
  • Develop and deploy applications using Docker and AWS FARGATE
  • Use monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Datadog for performance and cost efficiency
  • Configure AWS networking (VPCs, TGWs) and enforce governance via AWS Config and tagging policies
  • Maintain architecture diagrams and SOPs; collaborate across engineering and product teams

Qualifications

  • Active SC clearance
  • Proven experience with AWS DevOps, including EC2, S3, ECS, FARGATE
  • Strong CI/CD experience and familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS Code Pipeline
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK)
  • Hands-on with Linux administration, troubleshooting, log analysis, and performance tuning
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Chef, Ansible)
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and deployment to AWS FARGATE
  • Experience with monitoring/logging (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Datadog)
  • Good understanding of networking (VPCs, TGWs) and governance (AWS Config, tagging)
