About the Role

Working with the team to design, build and enhance network infrastructure using IaC and agile techniques. Being aware of security principles and conforming to a secure by design approach.

Salary - £45,000 to £55,000 subject to experience

Experience Requirements

We expect you to have demonstrated experience and subject matter expertise in at least some of the following technologies and practices:

• Experience of administration of Linux and Windows Operating Systems within medium/large corporate environments;
• Experience of IAC techniques using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, PackerIO
• Exposure to scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python;
• Exposure to administering Virtualised or Containerised systems in VMWare or Docker;
• Knowledge of CI/CD (Cloud native or Jenkins, Concourse), Docker/Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, OpenShift (PaaS).
• Experience assisting with the designing, deploying and administering Linux or Unix based solutions, using Virtualisation, Containerisation, techniques & procedures.
• Experience working within agile teams.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Working with team members to develop network resources using IaC.
• Contributing to agile ways of working.
• Conforming to secure by design principles ensuring all work is suitably tested and verified.
• Working with the team to define estimates for new work.
• Building infrastructure to various cloud technologies.
• Designing specific network components using agreed architectures, design standards and methodologies.
• Review and verify network designs against nonfunctional requirements including security access and audit controls.
• Identify and evaluate architectures highlighting the tradeoffs in cost, performance, security and scalability.
• Produce specifications of cloud-based or on-premise networks for translation into detailed designs.
• Identify risks and vulnerabilities. Making an assessment of their impact, probability and documenting the results.
• Researching and investigating potential attack techniques, providing recommendations to defend against them.

Qualifications

The candidate must be willing to hold Government Clearance and go through the respective vetting.
