DPS-Automation Engineer
Whitehall Resources are looking for a DPS-Automation Engineer. This role is hybrid working with 3 days per week onsite in Sheffield and 2 days remote working, for an initial 3 month contract.

: We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Data Protection Automation Engineer. You should have excellent knowledge of the scrum framework, with all its artifacts and techniques. You'll also need the ability to coordinate people and projects with your mind set on deliverables.
In this role, you will be expected to:
Contribute to sprints, retrospective meetings and daily stand-ups Work with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests Work collaboratively as part of a team and be an excellent individual contributor Design, develop, test and support automation for the data protection services (NetBackup and CommVault) within the bank. Design, develop, test and support reporting and monitoring capabilities for the automation. Provide engineering support on the bank's data protection automation and their use. Undertake product evaluation, new features, and versions. Produce clear and comprehensive documentation for all automation produced. Mentor less experienced members of staff
Must have skills and experience:
Highly practiced with use of collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence) Hands on experience in Devops SCM tooling, with expert level use of GitHub Have excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement) Comprehensive experience in configuration management and orchestration using Redhat Ansible Extensive knowledge of software development , including Python, Proficient in designing, developing, and testing Rest API services. Proficient in using third-party API services, and understanding how/where to locate their capability
Nice to have skills and experience:
Ability to convert Puppet code into other platforms (Ansible) Data Protection (Backup and Restore) experience General on-premise infrastructure experience Knowledgeable in Cohesity NetBackup and related infrastructure Knowledgeable in Commvault and related infrastructure
