About the Role: We are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Drainage Engineer Assistant. In this role, you will support the delivery of a wide range of drainage tasks, including jetting, cleaning, and assisting with underground burst repairs. You will work closely with trade colleagues to provide an effective and efficient service to clients and tenants, ensuring high standards of safety and professionalism. The successful candidate will be confident operating mechanical cleaning equipment, driving jetting machines and mini diggers, and working both independently and as part of a team. A strong understanding of health and safety practices, relevant materials, and site procedures is essential. This is a hands-on role that requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of drainage tasks, including jetting, cleaning, and assisting with underground burst repairs.
  • Operate mechanical cleaning equipment and drive jetting machines and mini diggers.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to provide a high standard of service to clients and tenants.
  • Maintain health and safety practices, understand relevant materials, and follow site procedures.

Qualifications

  • Experience in carrying out drainage clearance/repairs.
  • Use of mechanical cleaning machines.
  • Physically capable of very frequent lifting and carrying heavy and awkward loads, often up stairs/ladders or over distances.
  • Hold a full current driving licence.
  • Practical application of Health and Safety Legislation in construction, particularly Health and Safety at Work and COSHH Regulations.
  • Able to work as a member of a team or on own initiative.
