About the Company

Our client is a global chemical manufacturer in the Manchester area who is looking to add an EC&I Project Engineer to their Engineering team. This is a hands-on and varied role that combines engineering design, maintenance, safety management, and project delivery, with opportunities to contribute to plant-wide improvement initiatives.

EC&I Project Engineer - Responsibilities Lead and develop EC&I standards (ATEX, DSEAR, SIL, functional safety) in line with legal and industry requirements. Manage and deliver projects from concept to commissioning, ensuring on-time, on-budget execution. Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and reliability improvements. Ensure regulatory compliance with COMAH, IEC 61508/61511, and other safety-critical standards. Act as the go-to authority for control systems (PLC, DCS, SIS, instrumentation) across the site. Mentor colleagues, manage contractors, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver safe and efficient outcomes.
