A leading global aerospace engineering services organisation is seeking an Experienced Part 21 Electrical / Avionics Engineer to join their growing EASA Part 21J Design Organisation team in Frimley. This role will focus on the certification and integration of electrical and avionics modifications for large commercial aircraft, supporting airline operators worldwide.
The Role
Working within the electrical and avionics engineering function and collaborating with colleagues across multiple time zones, you will:
Lead and contribute to design activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
Address certification and integration issues relating to electrical and avionics systems changes.
Conduct certification activities, including on-wing test witnessing.
Prepare and review engineering documentation such as:
Wiring diagrams and harness fabrication drawings
Installation drawings and wire routing
Service Bulletins and accomplishment instructions
Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) including wiring diagram and schematic manuals, EWIS assessments
Compile and check compliance documentation including electrical load analysis, test plans/reports, safety assessments, equipment qualification and certification programmes.
Represent the organisation at technical meetings (ITCM, PDR, CDR, FAI) and provide on-site support during project embodiment.
Support the mentoring and development of less experienced engineers. Some and international travel will be required.
Key Requirements
Degree in Electrical / Avionics Engineering, Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering.
At least 3 years' experience within an EASA Part 21J Design Organisation (or equivalent).
Strong working knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements, including (E)TSO, CS-25, JAR-25, FAR-25.
Experience with aircraft interior and/or avionics modifications.
Proven track record working on large and complex aircraft modification projects.
Ability to manage multiple programmes, prioritise workloads and adapt to changing demands.
High attention to detail, strong professional integrity, and collaborative working style. Desirable
Previous or current appointment as an EASA Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE).
Experience navigating OEM data systems.
Background in mentoring junior engineers. Additional Information
