About the opportunity
Energy Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are supporting Hinkley Point C (a new build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), developing SMR (Small Modular Reactor) technology, and working towards building Poland's first Energy Power station.
We deliver major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle, aiming for safe, high-quality, and timely solutions through innovation and collaboration.
Amentum seeks an Electrical Commissioning Engineer for the HPC project, responsible for roles under this profile. Engineers will typically be aligned to HV, LV, DC, or generator systems but will work across all electrical disciplines as needed. This includes systems at voltages of 400kV, 10kV, 400VAC, 690VAC, 220VDC, and control voltages. The engineer must work with plans and meet tight deadlines. Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to team meetings
- Liaising with designers
- Liaising with Project Managers for electrical deliverables
- Being accountable to a nominated Commissioning Manager/Engineer in the NNB HPC Project team
- Developing commissioning documentation for testing and system validation
- Participating in design reviews to ensure plant layout facilitates commissioning
- Planning commissioning activities and owning a testing program
- Executing site commissioning activities, supervising contractor personnel to ensure safe and successful commissioning
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (e.g., HNC + experience)
- BS7671 18th Edition regulations
- Strong communication skills, able to convey complex information
- Ability to plan works and support scheduling, familiar with tools like Microsoft Project or Primavera P6
