Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer (Contract)\n Location: Liverpool (Hybrid)\n Contract Length: 6 Months\n IR35 Status: Outside IR35\n Rate: £40 - £45 per hour\n\nAbout the Role\n We are working with a leading food packaging company in Liverpool who are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support their engineering team on a contract basis. This is a hybrid role offering a mix of onsite and remote working, with an immediate start available.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nProduce detailed electrical design drawings and schematics for food packaging machinery and associated systems.\n\nWork with EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent design software to deliver accurate and compliant designs.\n\nDevelop control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials.\n\nEnsure designs comply with relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g. BS EN, Machinery Directive, PUWER).\n\nSupport the integration of new equipment and modifications to existing machinery.\n\nLiaise with mechanical engineers, project managers, and suppliers to ensure seamless project delivery.\n\nProvide technical support during build, installation, and commissioning phases.\n\nKey Requirements\n\nProven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within industrial automation, machinery, or food packaging environments.\n\nProficiency in electrical CAD tools (EPLAN P8 or AutoCAD Electrical ).\n\nStrong understanding of electrical standards, machine safety, and CE/UKCA compliance.\n\nExperience producing detailed schematics, panel designs, and documentation packs.\n\nAbility to work independently in a fast-paced project environment.\n\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills
