Hays Engineering is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a leading GSE manufacturer based in Dungannon who are looking to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer on a permanent basis. Working hours are hours per week.

Your new role
  • Design and develop electrical circuit schematics, harnesses and panel layouts to applicable internal and industry standards and legislative requirements.
  • Create technical documentation including design specifications, work instructions, parts list, list of critical parts and maintenanceponents.
  • Conduct simulations and other engineering analyses to guide and verify designs and specify the electrical and electronicponents for use in the vehicle system.
  • Liaise with cross-departmental teams to fully realise design boundaries, helping to identify technical solutions to realise design and achieve “right first time” approach.
  • Develop electrical solutions by studying customer requirements, researching and testingponents and determining overall system integration.
  • Working on projects to expand the current product range and bring new products to the market.
  • Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
  • Understanding of safety critical systems and the application to electrical and electronics systems design
  • Provide engineering support and technical answers in accordance with internal standards.
  • Maintains product andpany reputation byplying with regulations.
  • Any other duties as required by the Line Manager to suit business needs.

  • What you'll need to succeed
  • Must have an HND or equivalent in electronic/electrical engineering or relevant working engineering experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years postgraduate work experience in a similar design role.
  • Experience in schematics design utilising industry recognised design software, for example AutoCAD, SolidWorks, EPLAN.
  • Experience with electrified vehicle powertrain systems, off-road electrical systems design.
  • Ability to read and create detailed electrical drawings.
  • Detailed knowledge of current regulations and electrical design standards.
  • Excellentmunication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have good technical drawing skills.
  • Must have experience of drafting to electrical standards.
