Electrical Design Engineer
Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking to take ownership of innovative projects from concept through to delivery? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing engineering team, working on complex electromechanical systems that require creative thinking and robust design.
You’ll play a key role in the full product lifecycle — from initial requirements capture through to design, build, test and integration — producing high-quality, cost-effective electrical solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver reliable designs on time and within budget.
What you’ll be doing as an Electrical Design Engineer:

Designing electrical systems including power distribution, control panels and instrumentation
\n
Developing new designs and updating legacy systems
\n
Evaluating system requirements and identifying appropriate technical solutions
\n
Producing technical documentation such as test plans, interface documents and supplier specifications
\n
Supporting prototype and initial build testing
\n
Writing technical reports, presenting design concepts, and engaging with internal stakeholders
\n
Providing technical input during installation, testing and commissioning phases
\n
Working closely with mechanical, software and project teams to ensure seamless system integration
\n
What we’re looking for in an Electrical Design Engineer:
\n
HND or degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
\n
Knowledge and experience of electrical design techniques for industrial wiring and system interconnection
\n
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
\n
Hands-on experience using electrical test equipment for fault finding and prototype testing
\n
Strong technical report writing and presentation skills
\n
Familiarity with electrical design calculations and analysis
\n
Knowledge of industry standards (desirable)
\n
Experience designing wiring harnesses/looms (desirable)
\n
Personal qualities:

Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
\n
Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
\n
Excellent problem-solving and innovative thinking
\n
Clear communicator with good interpersonal skills
