Electrical Design Engineer required for an electrical equipment supplier based in St Helens. The successful candidate will design and manage the project from start to finish. From the first contact with the customer for the definition of the solution to the follow up of the order during installation and testing.

Electrical Design Engineer Job Overview

Creation of diagrams and schematics required by the project (single line diagrams, Keyline diagrams, AC & DC, wiring, etc.,). Work in collaboration with production engineering to create the list of materials and component specifications. Be involved and perform tasks under guidance from others during the tendering, design, manufacturing, FAT, installation, and commissioning activities of a project.

Electrical Design Engineer Job Requirements

Formal engineering qualification. Knowledge of AUTOCAD. Knowledge of EPLAN would be of interest also. Knowledge of the UK standards and presentation of electrical schematics within the MV/HV industry. Protection and control systems design experience according to DNO standards in the UK. Good knowledge of protection relays would be an advantage and experience creating settings and PSL files would be viewed favourably. As part of substation design, a knowledge of LV electrical installations and 18th edition wiring regulations would be useful but not essential.
