What does this team do? This team is responsible for designing and developing new diagnostics platforms, automating systems and continuous improvement of our products and services across Laboratory automation, MultiSTAT development (Analyser) and research into new technologies that will be used in Analyser design to support our customer across an variety of industries. Location: Randox Science Park, 30 Randalstown Rd, Antrim BT41 4FL. Contract Offered: Full-time, Permanent. Working Hours / Shifts: 40 hours over four days per week or 8:40-5:20 Mon-Fri. What does this role involve? This role is responsible for design and development of new diagnostic platforms and the continuous improvement of existing platforms: Develop design concepts based on User Requirements Contribute to the development of Functional Requirements Specifications based on User Requirements and approved concept designs Working within a multi-disciplinary team, clearly communicate requirements to other team members to ensure all development and testing is coordinated appropriately Applying knowledge of Electronic, Electrical, RF, Analogue and Digital design for the design, assembly, integration and prototyping of system components into working systems for developmental assessment Work alongside other engineering disciplines and scientists to ensure designs are rigorously tested, verified and validated Identify appropriately specified COTS products / software for use within a system Liaise with external design / manufacturing companies on technical specifications and project progress when appropriate Liaise with Purchasing department on the identification and evaluation of suitable suppliers Generate and maintain technical documentation, specifically, but not limited to, specifications, design drawings, design calculations, work instructions, FMEA, BOM etc. Conduct, review and revise FMEA. Contributing to risk/hazard analysis for all our products. Report on status of projects / designs to direct and senior management For products under development and released, contribute to design change when necessary, ensuring that design change is managed in a controlled way. Ensure all systems are designed to a high quality, ensuring compliance with appropriate internal procedures and external standards. Essential: Qualified to at least degree level in electrical or electronic engineering or relevant work experience. Minimum 2 years of industrial experience in electronics design, covering both analogue and digital circuits. Demonstrate relevant experience in electronic design, covering both analogue and digital circuits. Willingness and desire to learn and explore new technologies. Proficiency in one or more schematic capture tools. Desirable: Knowledgeable of ISO 13485, EN14971, EN61010 or knowledgeable of FDA guidance for medical devices. Experience of CE product marketing, technical file creation or design for global regulatory compliance. Understanding of design for manufacturing principles. Knowledge of ISO standards and FDA guidance for the medical devices sector. Understanding of IPC standards for design or manufacturing of cables or PCBs.
