We are seeking an Electrical Building Services Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary design team delivering major power transmission projects. Based in Manchester with occasional site visits, this role involves developing and reviewing technical design solutions for high-voltage substations and associated auxiliary systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and review small power, lighting, fire detection, security, CCTV, and access control systems.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, legal obligations, and industry standards.
• Evaluate client specifications, approve technical documents, and review supplier designs.
• Lead technical reviews of subcontractor packages and support project scheduling and risk management.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and civil teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to professional development within the team.

Requirements:

• HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
• BS7671 (18th Edition) certification.
• Proven experience in electrical building services design within industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in Dialux, Amtech, Hevacomp, with working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong grasp of UK design standards and ability to work independently and in a team.

Desirable:

• City & Guilds electrical qualifications.
• Experience drafting consultancy Scope of Services documents.
• Awareness of contracts and commercial deliverables.
• Commitment to ongoing training and development.
