Role: Electrical Engineers with onsite installation experience – Hinkley C Nuclear Power Station project

Location: Bridgwater, Somerset (TA5 1UD) – 4 days/week on site / 1 day at home

Salary: £55,000 – £70,000 + £1,500/mo travel allowance

Start: October 2025 onwards

An exciting opportunity exists for a number of Electrical Engineers with onsite electrical systems installation experience to work in support of EDF’s Hinkley C nuclear power station construction project.

Individuals who have progressed from hands-on trades roles into supervisory, project engineering and/or site management positions would be of particular interest, though this is not essential to being considered.

The positions will be based at the Hinkley C site near Bridgwater, Somerset (TA5 1UD) 4 days/week, with the rest worked from home. Candidates will be required to obtain nuclear site security clearance for this role.

Whilst previous nuclear industry experience would be useful, this is not essential – experience obtained supporting other large regulated industry projects (e.g. oil and gas, rail, defence, petrochemical, marine, etc) would be equally well suited and happily considered.

Responsibilities

  • Support onsite electrical systems installation for the Hinkley C project.
  • Understand construction sequencing of mechanical and/or electrical installation.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and BIM models.
  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders in a site environment.
  • Progress from hands-on trade roles to supervisory/site management responsibilities where applicable.
  • Operate in a manner aligned with nuclear site security and safety requirements.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience in electrical systems onsite installation.
  • Proven track record of progressing from hands-on trade roles into supervisory or site management positions is advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings / BIM models.
  • Knowledge of the construction/installation industry and construction sequencing of electrical and mechanical installation.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including CMD and Nuclear Site License requirements.
  • Ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders, particularly in a site environment.
  • Ability to work independently, be proactive, report on and escalate relevant issues.
