Summary:
Our client is a custom industrial equipment manufacturer making equipment that automates material handling systems. We are looking to add an Electrical Engineer to their team.
The Electrical Engineer will use AutoCAD to complete electrical schematics, then they will write programs using Allen Bradley software (Studio 5000), and finally will travel to customer sites to assist in equipment commissioning.
Traveling for equipment commissioning is defined as 2 weeks and then return to the office and typically is about 4x per year. During this trip there is weekend work weekends, and when you return a compensation day will be awarded for the next Friday. This is to give a long weekend after having to work a weekend.
Key Duties:
Design electrical systems : Develop wiring diagrams and schematics using AutoCAD.
Component selection : Size and select electrical components, including PLCs.
PLC programming : Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs for automated equipment.
Commissioning : Lead start-up and commissioning efforts, both onsite and remotely.
Collaborate : Work closely with shop personnel to ensure the accurate construction of equipment.
Key Qualifications :
Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent experience.
Experience with AutoCAD for schematic design.
Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in industrial automation.
Willingness to travel for project commissioning (25-30%).
