Develop detailed specifications for marine engineering systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to translate complex technical requirements into clear, concise documentation. Candidates must be willing to visit Marine vessels either in port or whilst on voyage - meeting with ships officers or fleet engineers to clarify and assess work packages/contracts. Conduct thorough reviews and updates of existing specifications to maintain relevance and precision. Participate in design reviews and provide input on electrical design aspects to enhance project outcomes.
Essential Skills and Experience
Proven experience in specification writing within the marine engineering sector. Strong background in electrical design, with the ability to interpret and create detailed schematics and diagrams. AutoCAD Electrical software knowledge would be beneficial. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail. Proficiency in relevant software tools and a solid understanding of industry standards and regulations. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also managing individual responsibilities effectively.
