Shift Electrical Engineer – Cardiff (Static Site) Location: Cardiff Hours: 4 on 4 off – Days & Nights (12-hour shifts) Contract: Permanent Start Date: ASAP
Site Type: Static commercial site Our client is seeking an experienced Shift Electrical Engineer to join their on-site engineering team at a large, high-profile static facility in Cardiff. This role operates on a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, covering both days and nights, and offers long-term career stability with training and progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs) and statutory compliance tasks Carry out electrical fault finding, testing, and reactive repairs on systems including lighting, power, distribution boards, and control panels Support maintenance and operation of electrical plant including switchgear, UPS, and emergency lighting systems Ensure compliance with health & safety, permit-to-work systems, and risk assessments Record keeping of works carried out and completion of relevant documentation Provide support to other trades and assist with general building services tasks as neededRequirements:
Recognised electrical qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds 2365, 2330, or NVQ Level 3) 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential) Previous experience in a critical or commercial building environment (e.g. data centres, hospitals, offices) Strong understanding of electrical systems, fault finding,...
