Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer Location: Prestwich, Manchester Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum (DOE) + Overtime at 1.5x Job Type: Permanent (Contract-to-Perm route also available) Hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am
4:00pm (48 hours/week), Fridays optional overtime We are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer
to join a well-established manufacturing business based at a longstanding heavy industrial site in Manchester. Youll be maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of machinery and electrical systems, working autonomously and reacting quickly to faults. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, safety-conscious, and confident working in a high-risk environment with minimal supervision. The Role:
Perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance on production machinery
Diagnose faults and carry out safe repairs inside electrical cabinets
Replace contactors, proximity switches, wiring, and reverse motor polarity as needed
Support mechanical systems such as conveyors, compressors, hydraulics, and bearings
Work with Siemens PLCs (S5/S7)
no programming required, but familiarity essential
Maintain accurate records for compliance
Liaise with contractors and suppliers when required
Monitor and order stock for electrical and mechanical components
Contribute to process improvements and equipment efficiency
Requirements:
Strong hands-on electrical maintenance experience in a
heavy industrial
or
manufacturing
environment
Confident working unsupervised on live panels and fault-finding within control systems
Experience with contactors, proximity switches, and Siemens S5/S7 PLCs
Fully qualified with
17th or 18th Edition
Comfortable in physically demanding and noisy environments
Able to work independently and solve problems under pressure
Whats on Offer:
Up to £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
48-hour week (MonThurs) with Friday overtime paid at 1.5x
26 days holiday including bank holidays (4-day working week)
