- Responsible for completing a range of Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) tasks and inspections. This includes daily, weekly, monthly, and 6-monthly PPM routines in line with industry standard guidelines (e.g., SFG20). You will be required to document completed tasks, including system checks, through check sheets and reports. Work will primarily take place in the central UK region, with occasional requirements to travel beyond.
- Ensure effective communication with the client's site engineering team and internal management.
- Maintain all electrical and mechanical plant services to applicable standards.
- Oversee subcontractor activities where necessary, ensuring compliance with risk assessments, method statements, and QHSE permitting requirements.
- Carry out electrical installations and upgrades in compliance with BS7671 regulations.
- Perform testing and inspections of electrical systems and issue appropriate certification (e.g., EICRs, Minor Works Certificates).
- Demonstrate technical knowledge across a range of critical systems including production lines, HVAC, fire alarms, emergency lighting, and public address systems.
- Identify required part replacements and obtain quotations for condition-based maintenance.
- Ensure that statutory engineering maintenance documentation is up to date and easily accessible.
- Oversee completion of PPM and service request tasks in accordance with agreed service level agreements.
- Maintain detailed records of work carried out using both digital and manual systems.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements; review site-specific documentation such as SOPs and training records.
- Adhere to organizational QHSE procedures and contribute to the implementation of any improvements identified during inspections.
- Participate in required technical training, including competency assessments and emergency scenario drills.
- Take part in an out-of-hours call-out rota as required.
- Direct reporting line to the Facilities Management team.
- No direct budgetary responsibility but financial awareness is essential.
- Prepare RAMS for all assigned projects and ensure tasks are executed in accordance with safety protocols.
- Actively promote a positive health, safety, quality, and environmental culture across assigned sites.
- Conduct site inspections and report on EHSQ performance, making safety recommendations where necessary.
- Review EHSQ documentation from contractors and subcontractors.
- Monitor and analyse incident and accident statistics when relevant.
- Maintain flexibility in service delivery to meet client needs.
Person Specification:
- Strong experience with maintenance and PPM schedules compliant with industry standards (e.g., SFG20)
- Proficient in PC use and Microsoft Office tools
- Recognized third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience with BMS controls and HVAC systems
- Capable of project management and multi-tasking in technical environments
- Able to work independently to high standards within agreed timescales
- Knowledge of emergency and call-out protocols
- Familiarity with UPS systems, standby power, lifts, boilers, and HVAC
- Experience with LV and HV systems, switchgear, and earthing systems
- Eligibility to be designated as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for LV systems
Qualifications:
- Full UK Driving Licence
- City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a mobile role
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Effective time management and ability to work autonomously
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Knowledge of other building services (e.g., HVAC, plumbing)
- Additional certifications such as IPAF, PASMA, or ECS Card
