Base Location: Reading, Slough, or West London (Hayes)

Salary: £43,704 - £57,728 depending on skills and experience + company car/cash allowance + London allowance if based in Slough or London + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Responsibilities

  • Lead in-field emergency and fault response, ensuring safe and efficient restoration of supplies.
  • Act as the technical expert and escalation point for operational teams in the field.
  • Coordinate and prioritise workloads, including Live Screen activities, to optimise team productivity.
  • Promote a safety-first culture by upholding SHE standards and ensuring compliance with SSEN’s Safe Management of Work procedures.
  • Conduct site visits, engage with teams and stakeholders, and drive high performance to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to regulatory standards.

You Have

  • ONC/HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience); operational authorisations up to 11kV are advantageous.
  • Strong technical and operational knowledge of electrical distribution networks, including fault management, inspection, and maintenance.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities under pressure, with a strong customer service focus and effective communication at all levels.
  • Good understanding of DNO operations, regulatory frameworks (e.g., price control periods, incentives), and performance data analysis.
  • Proficient in work scheduling systems and analysing performance data to support operational efficiency.

For this role a Full UK driving licence is essential and willingness to travel across the region.
