Electrical Shift Engineer
to join a leading data centre team, working within a critical environment that demands high standards of technical expertise and reliability. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge infrastructure, working with advanced electrical and mechanical systems to maintain uptime and efficiency across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate, maintain, and fault-find on
electrical systems
within a live
data centre
environment.
Perform
planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
and
reactive maintenance
on critical plant.
Work on
HV/LV systems , including switchgear, UPS, generators, and lighting systems.
Monitor and respond to building management and alarm systems.
Support mechanical and HVAC systems as part of a multi-skilled team.
Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards.
Complete job sheets, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation accurately.
Participate in the
shift rota , providing full coverage to ensure 24/7 operational reliability.
Skills & Experience Required:
Recognised
Electrical Apprenticeship ,
City & Guilds , or
NVQ Level 3
qualification.
18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations .
Proven experience working as an
Electrical Engineer
within a
data centre or critical environment .
Knowledge of
UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and building services infrastructure .
Strong fault-finding ability and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
